BIOGRAPHY
Poet and prose writer Vicente H. Garces was born in 1889. He studied at the Colegio de San Carlos and Lyceum de Manila. With the pen names Garvi and Kampisaw, he wrote for Bag-ong Kusog. He founded and became the first president of the literary group Dilang Bisaya (DILBIS) in 1963. Garces was also once a mayor of Talisay.
