NRCP Service Awardee: Dr. Hope Sabanpan-Yu
Dr. Hope Sabanpan-Yu, director of the USC Cebuano Studies Center, receives the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Service Award last March 10, 2023 during the Annual Scientific Conference and 90th NRCP General Membership Assembly held at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.
Yu, the first member to serve in the Governing Board of the Council coming from the regions, received the award in recognition of her significant contribution and inspiring leadership in the formulation of policies and setting directions for the growth and development of mission-oriented research, and for her invaluable service to the Council as its Corporate Secretary from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2022 and as Chair of the NRCP Division of the Humanities from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2023.
The award, given only when one completes the two-term service in the board, was bestowed on Yu by DOST Secretary Renato Umali Solidum Jr. and NRCP Executive Director Bernardo N. Sepeda.
