Hikalimti

by Angel Enemecio

Angel Enemecio’s Hikalimti tells about the speaker’s personal conflict with himself to forget his dear love. The poem greatly denotes of the impossibility of ever forgetting. The speaker had done all that he could to block out the memories of his beloved but to no avail. He portrays the strong emotions of being in love with someone. Hence, the impossibility of forgetting is like seeing the sun at night.
