Born in San Fernando on March 11, 1901.

Eulogio Cañete studied at the Cebu High School and Colegio de San Jose-Recoletos (AB).

He became Municipal councilor of San Fernando from 1941 to 1946. During the war, he was appointed Commander of the Bolo Battalion, San Fernando sector. He was also Motor Pool chief with the Cebu Portland Company. He also became Barrio Captain of San Nicolas Central in 1968 until 1972.

Eulogio Cañete published his first poem in Bag-ong Kusog in 1924. He won Bisaya and Bag-ong Suga awards for his articles and stories.

He is also remembered as a President of a pioneer self-defence club, Dose Pares, since 1933.
