Yu receives research grant from the Sumitomo Foundation
Dr. Hope Sabanpan-Yu, director of the USC Cebuano Studies Center, and a professor of the Department of Languages and Literature, was awarded a research grant by the Sumitomo Foundation. The grant is for the comparative study of maternal representations in both Japanese and Philippine literature.
Out of the 305 applications received by the Foundation, only 80 applications were successfully awarded. Yu is one of the four grantees from the Philippines.
