Akong mga Kasakit

by Candido Vasquez

Akong mga kasakit is a poem that talks about unrequited love and the consequent death, both in the literal and figurative sense. The speaker of the poem opens with how life has been for him and how he has been feeling for the past few days due to the intensity of the feelings he has for his beloved and the validation of his love. However, as evident in the flow of the poem, the object of his love continues to be unmoved by his love. This prompts the speaker to conclude that death was a better option than being ignored.
