Activating USC as Catholic cultural center

    The CBCP Episcopal Commission on Culture (ECC), composed of Most Rev. Elenito Galido, D.D., Most Rev. Julito Cortes, D.D., and Sr. Mary Anthony Basa, PDDM, visited the university to present the role, objectives and responsibilities of the envisioned Catholic cultural centers all over the country.

    The presentation of the CBCP team was held at the Rigney Hall of the Talamban Campus last September 4, 2012. The activity was attended by the Religious Studies faculty as well as the campus ministers, student leaders and representatives from the different colleges and departments of the university.

Most Rev. Elenito Galido, Chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Culture shared the program of the commission and its goals. Sr. Mary Anthony E. Basa, PDDM, Executive Secretary, presented the important need for cultural reawakening in the light of the Gospel values through the use of the different disciplines in the university.

Br. Romualdo Abulad, Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, facilitated the afternoon program together with Dr. Hope Sabanpan-Yu of the Cebuano Studies Center.
